Bunny

I have some fabric scraps leftover from wrapping one of my lamp shades. As you know, I'm not fond of throwing things away, so I kept the scraps, waiting for a chance to use them some day.

Finally, I got rid of my lazy bone a couple of days ago & used the scraps to make this bunny. I know it's not really nice as I made it without much planning.

Bunny's Front: Bunny's Back:
After that, I thought the bunny looked kind of 'empty', so I added a little orange bow to it's ear. On hind sight, wonder if it's a bit 'over-done'? Well, which do you prefer - this or the 'without ribbon' version? Or neither!?

Happy Easter!

Finally!

Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net Since discovering the flower buds on 30 March 09, I've been watching over my plant to ensure that I get to see the flowers this time.

Well, they've finally arrived! Safe & sound. Instead of just showing you how the flowers look like, I thought I should perhaps show you its growing phase from the day I blogged about it on 30 Mar 09. By the way, there are 3 blooms in the single stalk!

OK, are you ready? Here we go...Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net

Tamagotchi

Do you still remember the Tamagotchi toy? Yes, the egg-shaped handheld digital pet that allows you to:
- Feed the Tamagotchi a piece of food or snack
- Play games with the Tamagotchi
- Clean up the Tamagotchi's poop
- Check its age, hunger & happiness statistics

I made these 3 felt Tamagotchis when I was also part of the digital pet craze!

My Own HTML Button!

If you noticed, I've created an HTML button for Alcy's Hobby Room! You can add this button to your blog instead of having a text link.

Alcy's Hobby Room

You may be wondering why I used the postage stamp as my HTML button image. The reason is because the drawing you see in the stamp was drawn by me when I was 9 years old. I did that drawing during an on-the-spot art competition & won the first prize. Three years later, this drawing was featured in the 50 cents postage stamp issued to mark the "International Year of the Child 1979".

P.S. I learnt to create my own HTML button from the Zakka Life - HTML Button Tutorial. Try it!

Words of Wisdom

...from a cookie box!

Got these panda-shaped cookies from my niece. Have just finished the cookies and was about to put the box in the recycle bag when I saw the wordings on it, which I thought were quite meaningful:

P.S. Read the words from right to left!

Note: The box did not end up in the recycle bag afterall. My tendency to hoard things played up again & the box is still resting on my desk now. Guess I shall hold on to it for a while. Who knows, I may be able to use it for my crafts?! Will see...

Little Pink Penguin

This is my very first felt project - a pink penguin brooch!

I only sewed the body & then glued the rest of the pieces onto it (the lazy bum method!). Now, I prefer to sew all the parts together instead of just gluing them on.

Sanguine Expectations...

This evening when I came home from work, I saw something from the corner of my eye...Could it be what I've been hoping for? I quickly put down my bag & umbrella to take a look...Yes! It IS what I've been waiting for:

This plant has 'flowered' about 5 times in the past but I managed to see the fully bloomed flowers only ONCE! What about the other 4 times? Well, the buds were snapped off from the plant even before they could bloom! The suspects for these mischiefs - my neighbour's 2 sons. Since the last time they snapped the buds off, the plant has stopped flowering for more than a year already. Hmmph...So angry!

This time, I hope I will get to see the flowers...I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my neighbour's sons will not destroy my poor flower buds again. If I'm lucky to see the flowers, I'll let you know how they look like. In the meantime, be patient & keep guessing! Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net

Remember This?

Do you know what is this? No, definitely not a capsized boat, that's for sure. Make another guess...

Yep, bingo, it's a paper ball! Did you guess correctly? I used to play with these paper balls when I was a kid. Mum says they're still available on the market these days but I've not seen any. Have you?

Crochet Doggies

Do you see a familiar shape? The dog's body was created by crocheting over a "Yakult" bottle (you can use a "Vitagen" bottle if you like). Not only do I get to enjoy my "Yakult" drink, I can even make something with the plastic bottle! Cool!

Old Cantonese Movie - 後窗

I love old Cantonese Movies, especially those black & white ones (粵語長片). I used to be able to watch them on TV a few years back when they were aired normally in the dead of the night but not anymore. Found some of these clips on YouTube & thought I should share them with all those who love old Cantonese movies like I do.

This movie, 《後窗》 ~ 香港版 (1955), was an adaptation of the 1954 suspense film "Rear Window" directed by Alfred Hitchcock, which starred James Stewart & Grace Kelly. This Cantonese version featured the late 張瑛 & 周珅玲 and you can also see some old Cantonese movie stars like 盧敦、黃曼梨、馬師曾 、吳楚帆、白雪仙、芳艷芬 & 李清. Briefly, the movie is about the male lead who's recuperating from a broken leg and confined to a wheelchair in his small apartment. He passes the time by spying on his neighbours through his apartment's rear window and of course, he witnessed something one day...

I've watched both the English & Cantonese versions and enjoyed them both. This is one of my favourite 粵語長片. Hope you'll like it too.
